My favorite thing about this post by Andrew Sullivan is how he seems to actually think what he's saying is new and interesting. He quotes David Friedman and writes he's "onto something" with this little blather:
At least in my observation, the people and departments most inclined to favor "diversity" in the conventional sense are among those least likely to want to hire professors whose viewpoints differ from the consensus. What they want are people of the desired gender or skin color who agree with them.
Wow, that was really provocative conservative punditry...in 1987. Then it was misguided. Now it's just whiny.
